I thiiink I have officially bagged out on NaNoWriMo. I know, what a suckers. I just simply don't have the endurance for it, and my wrist is killing me from the many handwritten pages I did. But what I have may be a start for something new and glossy, who the heck knows? If I can, I will try to dig a few words in during my Thanksgiving Break. However, as all college students know all too well at this point, Thanksgiving Break should be more aptly named Homework Break. During the week I have off of all of my classes, I must write an 8-page essay, a 10-page essay, study for a test, compile a portfolio of drawings of naked people, and finish an aluminum sculpture project.
I have taken photos of the step-by-step process of how I make metal sculptures, so once I have completed the project, I will be sure to put them together and upload them for those who are curious. You are curious yes?
And now to the title of this journal, which I'm sure has set your toes a-ticklin' with curiosity.
About a week ago, I got a job selling samples of Brothers coffee at the King Soopers in Wheatridge. Basically, my task was to brew the coffee (using mostly my own supplies save for the product itself), give it to customers to try, and then persuade them to buy the promotional package which included a $1.00 off coupon and a free travel mug. Fun eh? Yes indeed. I got to wear fancy man-clothes, an apron, a lil hat, and the weirdest necktie in creation. I met all manner of people, some very awesome, and others quite quite rude.
One woman in particular I remember vividly. I offered her some coffee and she shot back at me, "I don't drink coffee!" and later when she left the store, she was clutching a large cup of coffee that she had purchased. I guess free isn't good enough for the wicked. I was also hassled by some frantic woman in a Christmas sweater, who I can only suppose had a hand in running the function. She didn't think I was making enough coffee fast enough. Let's just say by the end of the day, I had brewed exactly six gallons of coffee. SIX. SHUT UP CHRISTMAS SWEATER.
The other hilarious component was the the full-time employees of the store kept attempting to drive me to murder by putting Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas Classics on the little CD player behind my head. So, not only was I running on four cups of Brothers Pumpkin Spice Coffee, I had small mammals screeching in my ear for about six hours. ^"^;;
It is lucky for them, and the good patrons of the King Soopers that I have a fuse about 12 miles long.
Driving home with all of the supplies in snow that was flying sideways was also interesting. My car slipped and slid and X just about thought we were going to die. ^.^
Hopefully I will get paid in the next week or so, so that I may buy some food. T^T
Thanks to
So all right that is about the thick and thin of life at the moment. If you have read this far, congratulations! Have a fantastic day!
